Abstract EN

This research deals with vowel change (I maala), according to Abn Amru AL- Basri, which varies a lot and the material that deals with it is scattered in different in different sources .

the researcher collected this material from scientific sources and tackled AL-Basra’ s main trends in this area according to Al-Shatibiya and AL-Tayba approaches in a simplified way to benefit the students of quranic recitation whether on the academic level (colleges and schools teaching recitation)and on the level of Iraqi non-academic recitation centres.

This paper falls into an introduction and two sections.

The introduction consists of two parts: the first part gives a brief biography of Abn-Amra Al-Basri while the second part defines vowel change (Imaala), and shows its reasons and uses.

The second section is divided into two sub-section.

The first sub-section shows the cases of vowel change (Imaala) according to AL- Basri which are governed by rules; these rules are five in number.

The second sub- division shows the cases which are not governed by rules representing words which are scattered in the suras of the Glorious Quran.

The research is concluded with the most important results and a bibliography.
