The study aimsd at identifing the level of cognitive burden of university students according to gender and stage، and to achieve the goal of the study، the researcher adopted the Al-Abadi scale (2013) consisting of (13) items and the sample of the study reached (100) students who were selected by a simple random method The face validity of the tool was verified by presenting it to the experts and confirming the construction and reliability of the Alpha Cronbach method.

The researcher used of statistical methods to analyze his results، including the Pearson correlation coefficient and the T-test for one sample The study reached at the following results: The existence of a cognitive burden as for as university students are concerned، and there is no difference between males and females and students of the second and fourth stage in the cognitive burden the study came out with a number of recommendations and suggestions.
