Abstract EN

The city of Makkah is the Melting Pot where the people of the Islamic world gather, and her residents became the Islamic symbol that represented all people with their characteristics, inhabitance, clothing,food, and drinks, and all their life features.

This study aims to shed light on the unique features of Makkah’s culture by presenting the material and non-material cultural characteristics of Makkah society from a geographical perspective and exploring how the merging of different cultures since the time of the Prophet’s call till today has impacted the landscape of the city.

This study uses a qualitative ethnographic interactive approach based on participant observation, analysis of documents, and inductive analysis of data to describe, analyze, and interpret past and present Makkah society.

Specifically, the written records preserved in surviving documents and books will be evaluated to answer the following questions: Why did Makkah’s culture form as it did? How did the city of Makkah become a locus of cultural interaction that influenced and was influenced by other cultures, forming traditions that melted and fused into the unique culture of the Holy City? the study also showed the deep impact of the historical circumstances and events experienced by the Makkah community in the formation of the prevailing culture style in Makkah community.

In fact, the Mekkain culture is the result of the accumulation of cultural waves from bi- directional spatial spreading processes begin in Makkah and ended up also in Makkah, And the influence of Makkah on the whole world and on the Islamic world in particular.
