Universities possess the human resources represented in their professors, as well as their experiences, as well as their students, which qualifies them to become the largest home for volunteering, and with the growing role of universities in societies and increasing pressures on them to play a more effective role in the public life of societies and with the increasing need for voluntary activities also within societies to meet the needs of society, where The university's role in serving its community can be seen in the process of volunteering students, serving and developing the community.

Volunteer work is concerned with development issues in various societal fields; However, the practice of volunteer work among university youth in Egypt does not live up to what is hoped for in advancing development at the national level, and is not commensurate with the size and energies of this important age group compared to its counterparts in the international community, according to the assertion of many national and academic studies and official and civil reports.

This is in contrast to their counterparts from international universities, which are witnessing an increasing growth in the number of students coming to volunteer work, as universities are keen on the participation of university youth in volunteer work.
