Abstract EN

The aim of the current study was to identify the degree of alienation of (28) orphans of unknown parentages' in Aseer in the age of ranging from (12-16) years.

In order to achieve the objectives of this study, a scale of Alienation and a training program were devised to develop the skills of positive thinking.

The training program was applied to a sample of (12) orphans of the highest degree of alienation.

The training lasted for one and a half month with two sessions per week with total of (12) sessions.

The results showed that there was a high feeling of alienation among orphans who were not residents of the social care home.

The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the Pre- Post administration in the total score and the dimensions on the expatriate scale in favor of the post administration.

The results of the study showed that there were high feelings of alienation in the form of powerlessness, Isolation, normlessness meaningless, immorality, and selflessness in orphans of unknown origin.

Results revealed the effectiveness of positive thinking skills in reducing feelings of alienation, which support happiness, hope, satisfaction with life and the future, and counter pressure in the study sample.

Accordingly, conducting more research, studies and training programs to help orphans in general and those with special needs to adapt to psychological and social crises is recommended.
