Indeed, the issue of modern and ancient Arabic literary criticismis at first concern, which has attracted many scholars in our ancient literary criticism.

The core of this issue is about the splitof the Arabic poetry intotwonamely, ancient and modern.

Manycritics have discussed and studied this case, such as IBN RASHIK in his book titled “EL-OUMDA” and also “IBN SHARAF WL-KAIRAWANI” in his book titled “A'LAM ALKALAM” as this book has given different titles.

Therefore, this paper discusses this case with regards to the above mentioned scholars, by elaborating their quotes, and highlighting the style and thoughts of each scholar, with their way of discussion.
