إن البحث في موضوع " الخطاب الجغرافي و قضايا التاريخ الاقتصادي من خلال كتاب صورة الأرض لابن حوقل".
يكتسي أهمية بالغة على الصعيد المنهجي و التاريخي.
فرغم أن هذه النصوص نصوص جغرافية إلا أنها تختزن معلومات نادرة.
تكشف مدى حمولة النص المعرفية و اختزانه لجوانب مهمة و انفتاحه على معارف متنوعة.
و تسعى هذه الدراسة إلى إبراز بعض الجوانب الاقتصادية المهمة و التي ينطوي عليها النص الجغرافي و لئن حصر موضوع المقال زمنيا بالقرن الرابع الهجري و مكانيا بالمغرب الأوسط فهو وقوف على مرحلة تاريخية مهمة.
عرف خلالها النص الجغرافي لابن حوقل -على غرار المصنفات الأخرى- تطورات و امتازت الكتابة بمناحي مختلفة.
طبعتها كتابات جغرافيي القرن الرابع الهجري و التي كانت الأكثر عمقا و شمولا

" by ibn huqal.
The topicis of great importance at the methodoogical and historicallevelalthourgh the texts are geographical, they have rare information.
The geographicaltextis open to a lot of diverse knowledge.
The factthat the subject of the article islimited in the 4th centuryAH is a possipility in the Middle Maghreb regionaimedathighlghting an important historical stage.
Throughit, the geographicaltext has learnedmanydevlopments.
