Abstract EN

The study aims to highlight the possibility of zakat impact on the consumption index through an analytical study, where the result of the study was an inverse relationship between the dependent variable (total consumption) and the explained variable (zakat outcome) during the length of the study period This result contradicts the prior expectations and economic logic that zakat and total consumption in society are in a direct relationship, so distributing zakat to the poor class raises the levels of its consumption.

And its role and impact on macroeconomic variables and economic balance is limited, that’s why we tried to check the mechanisms that can improve the real role of Zakat on the Algerian economy
