This article aims to study the phenomenon of corruption in order to contribute to reducing it and protecting societies from its effects.

We presented the beginning of the definition of corruption, its causes and the factors that help its spread, and its tools, and then presented its types and effects on the various political, economic, social, and ethical aspects of society with reference to This phenomenon in Algeria.

We concluded that corruption is a global phenomenon affecting developed and developing countries alike.

It has devastating effects in various fields, and it has been found that the poor class is the most affected by it, in addition to the fact that the latter prevents economic growth and social development by diverting funds allocated to education, health and services.

And this is what we have seen by shedding light on this phenomenon in Algeria, as Algeria occupies the last ranks in many economic and social indicators due to the negative repercussions of the rampant corruption phenomenon in it.
