Abstract EN

In recent times, our Algerian society has witnessed a significant increase in crime rates, particularly in residential neighborhoods, which have had many reasons and circumstances that necessitated study and research.

This study aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of gangs, and growing rates of crime among young people in residential neighborhoods to this by trying to access to the most important motives behind this phenomenon.

This scientific paper is an analytical study, through which we found that laxity social control with a lack of security and lack of urbanization on the part of the population are among the most important factors that contributed to the prevalence of the phenomenon.
