Abstract EN

This article deals with a very important issue that is closely related to archival documents and their use in historicol studies, we examine the ottoman documents and their use in the field of the social and economic history of algeria during the ottoman period, we focused in this study on an archival sample related to of the religious tribunal records documents, these records contain the information of historical and cognitive value.

Throughthis study, we aim to highlight the various types of issues that these rocords dealt with during the studies period, including social, urban and economic aspects, in addition to highlighting various data and topics that affect daily life within algerian society, and these records were able to give us a new picture of algerian society during the otoman period, it differs from stereotype that foreign sources set for us, and therefore it is an indispensable historical source by researchers and historians.
