Evidence based from worldwide dietary practice has revealed a marked increase in the consumption of fat and sugar-rich products, which has led to a shift in the morbidity and mortality profile among the population, known as the name of epidemiological and nutrition transitions.
An in-depth analysis of the morbidity data and causes of death of the Algerian population from surveys of the 1990s, 2005 and 2012 revealed that Algerians suffer from non-communicable diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.
On the other hand, the official statistics published by the National Institute of Public Health on its causes of death revealed that the country is in the midst of a health transition, but in an imprecise manner, hence the lack of data.

Les données probantes sur la pratique alimentaires dans le monde ont dévoilé une nette augmentation de la consommation de graisses et des produits riches en sucre, ce qui a conduit à un changement dans le profil de la morbidité et de la mortalité parmi la population, connu sous le nom de transitions alimentaire et épidémiologique.
Une analyse approfondie des données de morbidité et des causes de décès de la population Algérienne à partir des enquêtes des années 1990, 2005 et 2012 a dévoilé que les Algériens souffrent de pathologies non transmissibles telles que la pression artérielle, le diabète et les cancers.
En revanche, les statistiques officielles de l'institut national sur la santé publique à propos ses causes de décès ont révélé que le pays est en pleine transition sanitaire, mais d'une manière imprécise d'où la déficience des données
