Abstract EN

The research is aimed at uncovering how Iraqi newspapers represented by (Albayina-Aljadeedah and Kulalakhbar) treated invasion of privacy issues.

This analytical descriptive study adopted a systematic random sample consisted of (95) issues from both newspapers.

A coding scheme was used to analyze (216) topics concerned with invasion of privacy.

The research reached several conclusion from which are: conformity of both newspapers in their treatment of areas of invasion of privacy issues with the social, cultural, and sports areas recorded the highest, consistency of both newspapers treatment of invasion of privacy issues with the nature of their treatment of these issues areas elements represented by (disclosure of secrets, publishing patients affairs and their critical situations, interfering in intra-family relationships), and both newspapers converged in their focus on identities of the characters targeted in invasion of privacy issues represented by (cultural and political).

Besides, neutral trend towards invasion of privacy issues has dominated other trends.

There was also a statistically significant positive correlation between areas of invasion of privacy and newspapers trends towards them and a statistically significant positive correlation between identities of the characters targeted in invasion of privacy issues and newspapers trends towards these issues.
