The Soviet Union was One of the Countries that supported India Economically during the 1970s by providing Economic assistance, which Consisted of financial assistance or loans.
In addition, the President of the Soviet Union Brezhnev visited India several times and provided them with clear Economic support in various fields.
The aim was to ensure India's loyalty to it as a barrier to Western expansion in South Asia.
