Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify the theoretical and conceptual framework of schools for people with special needs, and to analyze the reality of schools for people with special needs in Damietta.

Highlighting the most important challenges facing schools for people with special needs in Damietta; And developing a proposed vision to meet the challenges of schools for people with special needs in Damietta.

The research proceeded in its attempt to answer its questions according to the steps of the descriptive approach.

The research relied on the interview as a data collection tool; The research found: 1) Weak government funding for schools for people with special needs.

2) The ence of cultural programs to educate families of people with special needs about the importance of their education.

3) Weak societal awareness of the rights of people with special needs.

The research recommended: 1) Coordination between the ministries concerned with the care, education and rehabilitation of people with special needs and the Ministry of Education, provided that there is monitoring and follow-up by the Council of Ministers over these ministries; 2) Paying attention to training and qualifying special education teachers in the Arab world by sending them to countries that are pioneering in this field; 3) Working to open effective communication channels between the special education departments in universities in particular and all departments related to people with special needs to achieve mutual benefit between them in a systematic and organized manner; 4) Adopting an effective educational policy towards full support for people with special needs, as well as equitable diversification of special education services and providing an appropriate educational environment for them in regular schools.
