Abstract EN

This paper presents a preliminary reading on the processes of managing the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, especially in Arab societies.

It studies consequences of the rapid propagation of the virus within the context of security and also the renewal of its participants and strategies.

It looks at problematic questions about new issues that have emerged in the framework of societal security during this pandemic.

We adopted a descriptive and analytical methodology that traced the pandemic’s events and the news in traditional and social media, and followed-up with data and statistics that were issued by official authorities.

One of the most important results of this paper is to demonstrate the importance of the role that Arab social groups have played in the crisis management success, their specific contributions to societal control of the virus, and their role in supporting official efforts in providing health and societal security.

The most important recommendations of this paper are Increasing the efforts of the concerned authorities in order to value the results of research and scientific studies, increasing scientific research budgets, and increasing the consideration of scientists and researchers in various fields and disciplines.

The importance of referring to scientific competencies in science, human and social fields to review major economic and strategic policies in food and medicine manufacturing as well as scientific research.

Enhancing the role of Arab regional organizations and motivating them to play more effective roles in protecting common interests and confronting the challenges of global risks in society.
