The desert, as a connotational entity, has significance which reflects upon the rest of what constitutes a narrative work.

It has Alkoni’s unparalleled interest which is noted within all his novels (Tebet, God’s Camel, The Thirst, in addition to Searching for the lost Place) amongst other of his work.

The writer, in his novel, managed to unveil positive and negative connotation of the desert, which has rooted within the reader the will to communicate and to take a trip down the desert world of the novel, to capture what is hidden.

The research sheds light on the implementation of the desert, and the exploration of its’ significance and features in a creative manner.

An Arab is always loyal to his roots when when it comes to his/her strategic depth, for the desert possess an economic, civilization, and creative stature, since it hold most aesthetics related to the vastness of the scene, and the beauty possessed by the rising and setting of the sun.

The desert calls for meditation, and will to explore, with beauty, the marvelous presence of nature .
