This study aims to determine the origins of radio broadcasting and its historical development until up to the digital broadcasting.

Its importance lies in showing the origins and development of the radio, tackling the stage of the broadcasting satellite as the latest radio developments.

The research problem is curtained in: Will the radio remain a viable media, and will it still have a role in the age of social media, or is it on the way to decline and disappear? The researchers followed the historical approach that is used to obtain types of knowledge about the past through the study of some basic problems and present social processes, and the descriptive approach as it was used in the study of the origins and development of radio.

The study concluded that the radio faces many variables and threats that affect it in one way or another, and the radio can affect the surrounding environment, depending on its capabilities to adapt to environmental conditions and apply appropriate policies, which enhance the chances of survival, growth and development.

A successful means is one that takes into account the surrounding technology development, and realizes the importance of environmental factors and the need to adapt and respond to create the best media opportunities for proliferation and survival.

The digital development requires that the broadcasting satellite continuously seeks to achieve full acceptance of its programs and policies and even its existence and expansion, and takes into consideration all the technological, economic, political and cultural factors to use the appropriate policies and strategies that guarantee its survival and continuity.
