This study aims to highlight the difficulties that Algeria faces in applying and popularizing the use of electronic payment methods, despite the great importance of this technology, Algeria is still very late in using it, so we will try to clarify the factors hindering the success of e-payment in Algeria, and the protection prescribed for this technology.

through this study, we have concluded that the most important obstacles to popularizing electronic payment in Algeria are due to the weakness of the information culture among citizens, especially from new technologies, in addition to the risks of using electronic payment, on the other hand, the lack of necessary equipment, such as electronic payment devices, in addition to the frequent malfunctions of the existing payment machines, most importantly, there is no special legislation concerned with the electronic payment system
