The evolution and changing of the contemporary international community has led to a change in many concepts and put states in the face of many challenges that would change the rules of international law.

Among these rules is the principle of sovereignty on which the current international system is based, so states no longer enjoy olute sovereignty, international treaties that are the most important source in international law are also no longer accepted to be launched, and in this regard the reservation emerged, which constituted a manifestation of sovereignty, according to which the states that are part of the treaty could present it with the aim of modifying the legal effect of certain provisions during their application.

That is why we decided to shed light on this legal procedure that lies between the international commitment and the preservation of sovereignty, and in return, without prejudice to the unity and integrity of international treaties.
