This study aims at identifying the concept of social responsibility of SMEs to provide a clear assessment of their contribution to sustainable development in order to achieve the economic wellbeing of both present and future generations, as well as the motives and reasons for the introduction of social responsibility by SMEs, as well as the mechanisms for applying social responsibility within SMEs, as well as the criteria for their contribution to sustainable development.

The research found a close relationship between sustainable development and social responsibility, and the adoption of social responsibility in small and medium-sized enterprises leads to sustainable development.
