Adonis is considered as the most important pole of contemporary modernist Arab poetry.

He tried to benefit from the mystical heritage and link it to Western thought, trying to establish a poetic world based on reviewing the Arab poetic heritage and rebuilding the new poetic language.

A similarity between his language and the language of the Sufi and was distinguished by depth and distinction, seeking through it to deny and transcend all constants and genes, aspiring to freedom, openness, and communicating with the other in order to reveal and create new poetic visions, making the poetic self a creative and creative subject that transcends realityand aspires to understand the metaphysical world.
