Abstract EN

The interest of this research is to study the different levels of optimism and pessimism in single mothers.

The study sample was composed of 30 single mothers in the wilaya of Oran, whose ages ranged from (18-33) years.

Based on the descriptive approach, the researcher applied Dember's scale of optimism and pessimism.

One of the most important findings of the study is the low level of optimism among single mothers.

In light of the results, the study concluded with a number of recommendations, which boil down to the need to provide psychological support to single mothers.
