One of the important books that Abbott published was Two Queens of Baghdad, which represented two women who played important roles in the early Abbasid era.

Al-Khaizuran, the wife of the Mahdi, and mother of al-Hadi and al-Rashid.

And Zubaidah, the wife of al Rashid and the mother of al-Amin.

This book presents the political influence of these royal eastern women inside the Abasid court
