Abstract EN

The study aimed to monitor and analyze recent trends in scientific research related to the treatment of women's affairs in the printed press during the period from 2012 to 2018, using the second-level analysis methodology, Meta-Analysis.

The most important results of the study were: the diversity of research trends in studies dealing with women's affairs in the printed press, where research on the history of journalism, research on the image and gender representation, research analyzing the treatment and coverage of women's issues, and audience research.

The studies were based on several theories, approaches, and models, that were employed on the analytical and interpretation levels, the most important of which is at the analytical level (frame analysis theory- Agenda-setting theory- systems analysis theory- gatekeeper theory- social comparison theory- social epistemology), as for the explanatory level, theories emerged (discourse- globalization- Feminism- Social Responsibility- Introduction to Cultural Analysis).

Also, studies have used many methods and tools that varied between quantity and quality, according to the nature and objectives of each study.
