Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to investigate the life of the knight poet Muhammad bin Ahmed bin Imran al-Hamdani (465-540 AH).

Adopting the inductive analytical approach, the study begins by providing a historical background and an overview of the poet.

It then goes on to provide a survey of the remaining of his poetry through adjusting its structure and meaning and analyzing its artistic features.

The research data in this study is drawn mainly from original handwritten or typed written sources on the history of Yemen during the fifth and sixth centuries AH.

The findings of this study revealed that Al-Hamdani was a poet with a sober poetic language and intense poetic structure which made him excel in saying poetry and mastering all its purposes.

Thus, the research will throw light on a Yemeni poet who has been unrevealed for centuries.
