Abstract EN

This research paper aims to illustrate juristic ruling and medical opinion on a new occurrence, that is, non-surgical removal of facial wrinkles, adopting an inductive, descriptive methodology.

It opens with an introduction containing the significance and objectives of the study, a statement of the problem and a review of respective literature.

Then, this is followed by a study plan, with reference to the adopted methodology and the difficulties faced during the study, as well as the difficulties faced.

The study is thus divided into four sections, beginning with a definition of non-surgical removal of facial wrinkles, reasons and wisdom behind removal of it, and an illustration of relevant terms.

This is followed by a section addressing the methods of non-surgical removal of facial wrinkles, while the third section engages juristic categorization of the types of wrinkle treatment.

The fourth section discusses the juristic ruling on non-surgical removal of facial wrinkles, followed by a conclusion containing the key findings and recommendations.

Then followed is a list of resources.

Among the key findings is that the preponderant opinion states that non-surgical removal of facial wrinkles through injection (of fillers) is permissible in case medical treatment is driven by a medical need, not entailing greater harm than the presence of wrinkles.

However, if there be no medical need to treat the wrinkles, then such treatment is impermissible.

Besides, the materials used as fillers are of three types, natural, synthetic, or dermal.

It is also found out that most women do not know about the harms entailing injection, or about the respective religious rulings.

The researcher thus recommends the introduction of new medical field (forensic) affiliating with the Islamic Affairs authority with the purpose of monitoring the work of cosmetic centers.

She also recommends female researchers in Sha'i colleges to investigate new occurrences and illustrate respective religious rulings.
