The god Anubis played an important role in ancient Egyptian religion, as he was the protector of the cemetery, the god of the dead, and the observer of the embalming process.

His worship continued until the Greco-Roman period.

His forms differed by the difference of his function, which was evident in art, where Anubis was depicted in multiple forms, some of which are familiar, and others are depicted in unfamiliar forms.

this paper will deal with those unfamiliar forms and their relevance to the functions of the idol Anubis, through the tombs of the Kharga and Dakhla oases in the Roman era, as these tombs included many of these unfamiliar forms that are rare in other places.

As these bodies reflect the importance of the tombs of the Roman oases of Kharga and Dakhla through the presence of these bodies in them, and these bodies are among the features that are unique to the idol Anubis during the Greek and Roman eras, in addition to the bodies in which the idol Anubis appeared during the Pharaonic eras, most of which reflected a function The idol Anubis in being the protector of the cemetery and the mummy, we find that these bodies provided us with new images of the idol Anubis mixed with the snake of goodness and with the bird of the deceased.
