The research uncovers the concept and methods of orienting the predecessor exegetes' sayings by Imam Abu Jaafar An-Nahhas who is considered one of the most outstanding linguists and exegetes in the past.

This research uncovers an aspect of the An-Nahhas' concern about the Salaf sayings in his book entitled “Ma'ani al-Quran”.

The research came to the conclusion that the concept of orientation and methods of orientation of Al-Nahhas are three ones: the first method: to give the ayah all interpretations due to their nearness.

The second orientation: to refer to the meanings and the reality of all sayings.

The third method: to refer all interpretation to some of them.
