Abstract EN

The lineage of Ibn Enabah goes back to Musa al-Jun bin Abdullah al-Mahd Ibn Al-Hasan al-Muthanna Ibn Al-Hasan Al-Sabt ibn al-Imam Commander of the Faithful Ali bin Abi Talib (pbuh).

His family inhabited in Hilla in which he received his knowledge from his Sheikh Ibn Maia.

Ibn Enaba followed the approach of his Sheikh in caring for genealogy, especially the Alawite ones, and he made unremitting efforts to find the truth about it, and for that he travelled to many regions of the Islamic world and heard from the Alawite sheikhs in order to prove the genealogies, revise them and push the intruder into them.

During his travels, which covered several areas, including Mecca, Persia, Asbahan, and Samarkand, he was taught by a good number of genealogists of his time, and he also sought help from some sources which were concerned with the Alawite lineages, including his book called Omttat Al-Talib in the Genealogies of the Abi Talib family, which he revised and gave a copy to Tamerlane and another briefed to Muhammad bin Falah Al-Misha'sha’i, a founder of the Al-Masha’sha’ya Emirate in Al-Hawizeh.

In this paper we dealt with the life of the lineage of Ibn Enabah, his lineage, the conditions of his time, then his scientific standing and his most important works, then his resources, travels and methodology in his book, Omdat Al-Talib
