Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the news credibility on the news websites from the perspective of Jordanian journalists, and to identify the most important trends and patterns in their reliance on these websites.

The survey method was applied to 130 Jordanian journalists who are working for daily Jordanian newspapers, including ALRai, Addoustur, AL-Ghad, AL-Anbat, Adyar, and Al-Sabeel, as well as the Jordanian News Agency (Petra).

A Questionnaire was used in this survey and the most important findings were the following: (1) 42.3% of Jordanian journalists heavily rely on news websites to get information and news; (2) the results indicated that 44.2% are ‘always’ exposed to news websites, while 40.8% of them are exposed on a less regular basis; (3) local news on news websites are the most preferred to Jordanian journalists with 36.7%, followed by public news with 33.3%, while only 16.7% preferred Arab news; and (4) political news ranked the highest among the contents of the news that Jordanian journalists follow, with 61.7%.
