Abstract EN

This study is intended to identify crime prevalence in Taif based on the daily facts.

Mixed methodology was adopted, and secondary data of the period (from 1427H to 1440H) were used.

Additionally, in-depth interviews were conducted with policemen working in the field.

Findings have shown a disparity in crime prevalence rates between 2 = 908.391, p < .001.

For crimes of assault on people 2 = (1458.709), p < .001, while for crimes of assault on funds 2 = (2124.497), p < .001; for moral- related crimes 2 = (5810.202), p < .001, while for intoxication ones 2 = 5426.421, p < .00.

For various crimes 2 = (1563.854), p < .001.

Findings have also shown a disparity between known and unknown crimes.

The years (1427H 1433 H) have seen the highest percentage of unknown crimes(21%), while the year (1439 H) has seen the lowest (5%).

The years 1435 H and 1439 had the highest crime rate in general.

Qualitative data garnered from interviews confirmed quantitative results.

Study summed up with a number of recommendations promoting the broader concept of security and achieving the 2030 vision
