Abstract EN

This study aimed at measuring the effectiveness of a training program to develop strategic planning skills among academic leaders at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University using the experimental method.

The tools were a questionnaire to measure strategic planning skills and an applied training program to a sample of (30) academic leaders, the performance of whom was measured before and after the program had been applied to the related dimensions strategic planning skills (vision, mission, internal environment, external environment, and strategic objectives) during the second semester of 2017-2018.

The results showed that the mean of the strategic planning skills was significant.

The mission came first with the highest mean (4.80), while the external environment scored the last mean (4.69).

The mean of the tool was (4.75) and was statistically significant featuring a positive effect (α=0.05) for post-performance in all fields of strategic planning skills.The study recommended enhancing the strategic planning skills among academic leaders and developing them through holding training courses
