Abstract EN

The aim of this research is to identify the trends of the members of the members of the municipal council in practicing their roles in municipal activities in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

To achieve the goal of this research, a questionnaire has been designed to obtain the opinion of municipal councils on this matter.

This questionnaire has been tested for reliability and validity.

The results of this research show that the performance of the municipal council’s members is generally moderate with respect to municipal activities.

They also demonstrate that the overall practice of these members in the main activities of the municipality is moderate and weak.

In addition, the results show that the role of the municipal council’s members is extensive in decision-making, moderate in administrative control, and weak in giving opinion on the municipality’s main issues.

Finally, the study came up with the following recommendation: the members of the municipal council must be empowered, so that they can practice thier role in the muicipality’s main activities.
