When the invisible in the picture is at work, it approximates figurative language, both in its written and spoken forms, in the sense that it gives it a figurative meaning that is discovered and brought into the surface by imagination, which, in turn, converts it into semantic content.

It is precisely meaning that is used in a context other than that of visible description.

Such meaning is similar to its counterpart insofar as it takes it to another denotative plane, provided that the real and figurative meanings remain related and that the receiver remains aware of the differences between them.

The invisible is an intended departure from direct realistic usage.
