Abstract EN

Arbitration is a method of dispute settlement; one of its advantages is the prompt handing down of judgments binding on parties to the dispute.

Unlike when resorting to court, parties to a dispute keep their good relationship through arbitration and this is another advantage.

Key objective of this research is to throw the spotlight on shortcomings in both Federal and Egyptian Laws, and on the importance of specifying arbitration time frame in arbitration clause and arbitration agreement.

Study adopts comparative method: it conducted a comparison between Civil Procedure Code, Federal Law No.

(11) of 1992 (Articles: 203 - 218); the Federal Law No.

(6) of 2018 on Arbitration, and the Egyptian Arbitration Act No.

(27) of 1994.

The aim was to turn the spotlight on similarities and differences between the two legislations in regulating the time frame within which arbitrators should issue their awards.
