Abstract EN

The study aimed to reveal the ability of religiosity and mindfulness to predict life orientation.

The study sample included (359) adult Muslims (165 male, 194 female).

The ages ranged from (22 to 52) years, with an average age of (28.27) years and a standard deviation of (8.39) years.The study instruments included a life orientation scale and a religious orientation scale designed by researchers, in addition to a Face Mindfulness Questionnaire which was also translated by the researchers, with consideration of psychometric properties.

The most important results of the study showed that the two dimensions of religiosity fell within the middle level.

While mindfulness dimensions and the total score were within the moderate level, except for the two dimensions of observation and non-judging of experience which were within the high level and ranked first and second.

Life orientation, on the other hand, was within the high level.

A positive correlation was found between intrinsic religiosity and life orientation.

There was also a positive correlation between intrinsic religiosity and both dimensions of observation, description and non-judging of experience as well as the total score of mindfulness only.

Similarly, a positive correlation was found between life orientation and both of the dimensions of observation and description and non-reactivity to inner experience and the total score of mindfulness only.

Finally, there were four predictable variables (nonreactivity to inner experience, awareness of behavior, description, and intrinsic religiosity) that had the predictability of life orientation
