Abstract EN

With a view to limiting the spread of COVID-19, social distancing became a requirement.

This study is intended to gauge the level of social distancing practiced by personnel of educational institutions (the study sample); to gauge psychological security among study sample and identify differences in levels of social distancing practice among study sample based on gender, specialization, education, age and years of experience.

It also aims to identify the correlation between social distancing and feeling of psychological security among study sample.

Descriptive method was used, and two scales were required to realize intended objectives: one for social distancing, and the other for feeling of psychological security.

The sample comprised (97) of personnel of educational institutions at East Alexandria Administration, including teachers, administrators and heads of departments.

Findings have shown average levels of social distancing practice and of feeling of psychological security among study sample.

Statistically significant differences were found at α 0.05 between males and females; between personnel of different specializations and between the age groups (below 40 and over 40 years old).

No statically significant differences were found based on education and years of experience variables.

According to findings, a strong positive correlation was found between social distancing practice and feeling of psychological security among study sample
