Abstract EN

This study dealt with the social responsibility of students according to the dimensions of sustainable development: a field study at University of Salahaddin/Erbil.

The research problem was determined by an independent variable consisting of social responsibility and a dependent variable consisting of sustainable development.

The discussion was divided into three basic dimensions (Personal and environmental protection, the economic dimension, and social justice) and it aimed at achieving three main objectives: (1) identifying the level of social responsibility and sustainable development of the sample units; (2) specifying the individual differences of the study sample units according to the variables of research; and (3) explaining the nature of the relationship between social responsibility and the dimensions of sustainable development.

Two scales of social responsibility were developed, consisting of (11) items, and the scale of development consisting of (39) items, both of which were devised to collect data from the sample units which involved (375) students from Salahaddin University.

The sample covered six faculties, three humanitarian colleges and three scientific colleges.

The data was processed using (SPSS) and the results of the research were as follows:1- The research sample units of students have a moderate degree of social responsibility.

2- There are no differences at the level of the sense of social responsibility in the sample units in terms of sex variable.

3- Student’s research modules carry social responsibility according to the dimensions of sustainable development.

4-The results showed direct and indirect effects between social responsibility and the dimensions of sustainable development.
