Abstract EN

Universities and higher education institutions are a progress gauge in any society, as they are academic centers that produce and renew knowledge, and invest their capabilities in serving the community.

This made the institutions of higher education work to develop their curricula and outputs so as to bring them in line with the needs of society.

This is carried out according to a reciprocal educational system involving the educational institution and the labor market represented in the government sector and the private sector.

Therefore, this research deals with the topic of the need for universities to pay attention to the quality of their outputs, in order to benefit from an important resource in society, which is the human capital, which in turn calls for expediting the methods that could harmonize the outputs of university institutions with the requirements of the labor market.

On the other hand, the disciplines that are offered in the colleges of communication in higher education institutions and the outputs achieved by their curricula need be compatible with the requisites of institutional communication management in the government sector in terms of the type of disciplines required to be assigned in the work sector.

From this standpoint, this research focuses on monitoring and analyzing the level of compatibility between the outputs of the majors of communication colleges in higher education institutions in the United Arab Emirates with the needs of institutional communication departments in government organizations, by applying the case study method to the College of Communication at the University of Sharjah and a number of government institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The researcher analyzed the content of the study population qualitatively to measure the level of this compatibility using specific indicators.
