Abstract EN

The study aims to inventory and analyze the status of values in the geographical lesson, focusing on two types of values: the values that the Moroccan educational system targets (religious values, national values, and universal values), the values targeted by geography, the values of citizenship as an example.

Education on values can take place implicitly and explicitly.

The implicit form can be studied by analyzing the contents of textbooks, but we will focus on the explicit or declared form of schoolbook goals by following the descriptive and analytical approach to the content of the stated learning goals.

The study concluded some of the results, the most important of which are: The lack of interest in textbooks in learning goals, that value character, as only 12% of the total learning goals of the textbook were announced in the study sample, while goals of knowledge and skill nature reached 48% and 40%, respectively.

Also, those educational goals that target values focused on the values of preserving the environment, in almost complete absence of other values that geography can target, such as the values of citizenship and social justice.
