Power stations are among the most important facilities in the country and any attack on these facilities is considered a crime that is detrimental to society.

Electric power is of a vital importance and has a clear impact on the national economy for being an indispensable source of power and is greatly connected to the lives of individuals and the interest of society, not to mention its great contribution to maintaining security.

As a result to this importance, the legislator has paid much attention to power stations by imposing several penalties on perpetrators who attack these facilities.

The crime of attacking power stations is no longer limited to a narrow circle; rather, it has become an attack and aggression on the economic interests of society, which have a crucial role on its maintenance and well-being.

Those who attack power stations pose a real threat to the state’s internal security, specifically when it is coupled with actions that have impact on security.

Given that power stations have a vital role on the national economy and attacking them can cause great damage to country’s economy; to identify how existing laws and legislation are efficient in protecting power stations; and to identify defects and weaknesses in legal and law provisions related to power stations by making use of and comparing with other legislation in this field, the researcher has decided to discuss the crime of attacking power stations.
