Abstract EN

This study is aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using a computerized program in improving reading fluency for second cycle school students with learning disabilities.

The researcher has prepared an exam to measure reading fluency skills of the students.

Topics of exam have been chosen from Omani curriculums.

The researcher conducted a computerized program based on the exam topics.

The sample of the study consisted of (22) students who were assigned randomly to two groups: experimental group (11 students) who have been taught reading fluency skills using the program and control group (11 students) who have been taught reading fluency skills using traditional teaching methods.

Then posttest was held for both groups to measure the improvement in reading fluency skills.

Findings showed that there are significant differences between the two groups (experimental and control) in the posttest for reading fluency skills.

Results also showed differences in the experimental group between pre and posttest for reading fluency skills..

Accordingly, the researcher recommended that computerized programs should be used to prepare Arabic language lessons and other subjects for students enrolled in the Learning Disabilities Program because of its impact in improving the level of achievement of students.
