Abstract EN

The current study started from a major question: What is verbal violence against children and its impact on society? In the study is a descriptive one that seaks to identify the dimensions and contemporary societal conditions that lead to the emergence of verbal violence against children in schools within Saudi society, as it is linguistic violence directed against children in the school environment.

The study is based on a sample of 16 Case Study using the focus group discussion method.

The study was conducted on one of the middle schools for girls in Saudi Arabia.

The study concluded that there is a multiplicity of societal factors leading to verbal violence against the child, as well as social and psychological effects on the child who is verbally abused.

The field study also reveal that social networking programs, imitation and simulation of others are the most common sources for teaching verbal violence among children, as well as the low level of awareness among teachers of modern educational methods in dealing with students inside the school.
