Abstract EN

The study aims at explaining the relationship between forced migration and social inclusion through an ethnographic study of a sample of Syrian householders settling in Egypt.

The study is based on a number of questions detect the visible and underlying reasons behind forced migration the evidence of immigrants' selection of Egypt, the importance of social inclusion and social interaction; the composition of social networks and daily life practices.

The study also aims at detecting physical aspects represented in residence, access to education and health services, and employment opportunities.

Methodologically, the study uses the ethnographic approach.

The researcher used the ethnographic interview evidence, non-participatory observation and informative as tools of data collection.

The study has been applied to a selected sample of Syrian householders residing in the seventh district, Sixth of October city.

General results have shown that wars and armed conflicts are visible reasons behind forced migration and social exclusion.

The analyses also indicated that selecting a study case in the Egyptian society was fundamentally due to the convergence of customs, traditions, and values which contributed to the efficiency of positive readiness to social participation, composition of social networks, and social interaction in daily life practices.

The previous finding resulted in reproducing the Habitus (system) of immigrants who have acquired the customs, values, traditions, and culture of the recipient society on the one hand, and created new positive activities on the other hand that served as their symbolic capital as P.

This resulted in re-producing social structure and in reinforcing the sense of inclusion in spite of the existence of some obstacles in the physical aspects especially in the variables of residence, education, and health.
