Abu Nawas used alphabet letters in poetry to refer to funny meanings.

He got benefit from the form and the sound of the letter.

So if he wanted to describe a small thing, he would make it similar to dots in alphabet letters and if he wanted to describe something wrapping he would made it similar to the letter and when he flirted with a boy, he pronounced the letter correctly and in other hand he pronounced the letter badly when he wanted to satirize him.

There were some poets preceded him to this art, but he was creative in it.

The critics admired his art.
