Abstract EN

This study belongs to descriptive analytic studies that do not depend on the media survey approach in gathering, analyzing interpreting as well as comparing the information so as to reach to only acceptable generalizations.

Instead, this study aims at disambiguation and criticism of the predominant media coverage of news in order to evaluate and assess them.

Its objective, thus, is to know the amount of attention paid to Spiecher Massacre by media of Iraqiya and Sharqiya Satellite Channels by investigating the reality of the news items introduced in relation to the said massacre.

The study is based on the instrument of content-analysis to know the characteristics and features of media coverage of news, in addition to highlighting the similarity and convergence between them.

The researcher put a form of analysis and fellow-up after verifying the procedures of the validity and constancy of its scale for the purpose of content division and converting the findings of the analysis into digital based on the analysis units which mostly was derived posttest.

The statistical method is used in calculating and measuring the findings using the quantitative analysis in addition to the qualitative analysis enhanced by samples from the analyzed material.

After the statistical analysis which the quantitative analysis includes, and the criticism of the qualitative analysis, the study comes up to the following: *The Iraqiya and Sharqiya Satellite Channels did not pay attention concerning Spiecher Massacre.

They were not mass media but ambiguated the massacre with all its news value: seriousness, immediacy, proximity, immensity, strife, clarity, competiveness and oddness.

In addition to the humane compassion with the massacre.

Something would made the massacre leads all the other coverage news.

The two Iraqiya and Sharqiya Satellite Channels have totally concealed Spiecher Massacre and did not give any information about them albeit its harshness.

They did not give any international statement's that renounced the massacre as a grave violation of human rights.

The coverage was too late 70 days after the massacre and was mostly surface coverage that gives no answers.

By this ambiguity they actually follow the media of the dictator regime instead of being a code on honor.
