Abstract EN

The current research aims to identify the trends and tendencies of beneficiaries using information sources in university libraries in terms of the source of information (digital, traditional) as well as type (books, thesis, periodicals, references).

The research community included the beneficiaries of the Central Library of the University of Mustansiriya by taking an occasional sample for a specific period of time, and the distribution of a questionnaire questionnaire included a number of questions to indicate the types of digital information sources used by them and the reasons for their preference over other sources.

The researcher used the descriptive and analytical methodology using the personal observation by the researcher as data collection tools, using the records of the library, including the preparation of books, periodicals, theses, theses and letters borrowed internally and externally.

The research concluded a set of results, including: There is a preference for the use of unpublished sources of information (messages and theses) than other sources of information.

At the end of the research a number of proposals were made in the light of the conclusions reached.
