This research deals with the intentionality which considered one of the criteria that achieve textual coherence and this by applying it on satirical literature text; “Tales of the Fool and the Dumb People”.

The research discusses what is meant by satirical literature, the meaning of intentionality and its importance in comprehending the text and types of various intentions within the studied text of the creator of the author.
