دور مؤسسات التعليم العالي في نشر الوعي البيئي بين الطلبة : جامعة عجمان–الإمارات العربية المتحدة نموذجا

Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the level of Ajman University’s performance of the role of environmental awareness from its students’ point of view, and to identify the existence of statistically-significant differences in students’ perceptions of this role.

These differences are attributed to the following variables: gender, upbringing, work status, academic specialization, monthly income, family size, and exposure to university courses on environmental awareness.

The study was conducted on a purposive sample of 370 university male and female students enrolled in theoretical and practical colleges.

The data was collected by means of an electronic questionnaire during the second semester of the academic year 2018/2019.

The results showed that the level of performance of Ajman University’s role in environmental awareness was high according to the opinions of the majority of the study sample (80%).

The results of the T test showed that there was a significant effect of personal and university factors on the nature of this role, but community factors had no significant effects
